FAQ RELATED WITH GATE ADMIT CARD

Ans: The Admit Card for GATE 2025 can ONLY be downloaded from the GATE 2025 website in the first week of January 2025. Admit Cards will NOT be sent by post or as an email attachment.

Ans: NO. Candidates MUST also bring an original and valid photo Identity Document (NO photocopy/scanned copy/NOT an expired document) as specified during the online application process. For Indian candidates, only the following identification cards will be accepted: Aadhaar-UID (preferable), Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, and Driving License. For foreign nationals, documents such as a valid Passport, any other valid photo ID issued by their government, or Driving License are acceptable.

Ans: NO. A hard copy (preferably printed in color) of the Admit Card is required for entry to the examination center.

Ans: The part of the photo ID containing your photo, name, date of birth (DOB), and ID number should be uploaded. If these details are spread over two pages (e.g., front and backside of the Photo ID), then both pages must be uploaded.

Ans: NO.

Ans: You will not be able to make any changes to your application immediately after its completion. However, you can make corrections at a later stage within a given time duration by providing supporting documents.

Ans: Such occurrences are considered violations of the GATE examination code of conduct and will result in disqualification of the candidature.

Ans: If you have applied for two papers in the GATE examination, there is a possibility that they could be scheduled in the same session. However, the examination authorities usually try to avoid such clashes and schedule the papers in different sessions or on different days. Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) and Civil Engineering (CE) papers in GATE will be conducted as multi-session papers, specifically two-session papers. Candidates will be assigned to either the forenoon session or the afternoon session, and the question papers will differ for each session. Multiple sessions are scheduled when the candidate count is too high for a single session. Candidate scores will be normalized using the normalization formula.
